Who is this Shira Dicker? She writes:
"We can better deal with the idea of a welfare mother in the inner city killing her children out of desparation.... Susan Smith, the 23-year-old South Carolina woman...is too frighteningly similar to us."
Since this is the Manhattan Jewish Sentinel, just who is this "we"? Who is this "us"? Where is this "inner city"? And why should Manhattan readers have to put up with Ms. Dicker's racist assumptions about who is on welfare, who lives in the "inner city," who her readers are, and what we can deal with?
