Modern civilization
A maze of machinery
A ton of coal
But man thru the ages
Unchanged

The radio squawks
The street throbs
Wheels rumbling o'er it.
Yet our heart still beats
Alive.

The telephone rings
Unseen hands, invisible voices
Modern contrivances for men
Traveling thru eternity, his mind
Unchanged

Yet would I write on
But to what avail?
Ponder, o ye beings
Hearts still beat
Alive.
