106. A Cup of Coffee

Feet wet and cold
	He, sheltered by a shanty
Did defy the elements bold
	But his stomach craved coffee

The ground was ice-covered
	Winds blew the sleety rain about
While the world in beds bedecked
	Slumbered as the boy fought this morn

Ye elements, what terrors ye possess
	Obstacles place ye in man's way
I fain would first take demitasse
	To be ready for the battle's day.
