GENERATIONS Copyright (C) 1997 by Not Nice Music II. A COLLECTION OF OBSCURITY by Edwin M. Drogin 14. Age of Innocence I can sing But not of love That's a thing I've nothing of As yet. I wonder if it's so That eyes will lock, And lips will know, And world will rock. So cynical about the words in books Yet hoping where there's smoke... The farce of smold'ring looks. I start to laugh and then there is no joke. And want... Like crawling towards a star Just out of reach And yet so very far. I cry for the moon But all I need is a candle flame A flicker that will soon Die out; singe me a little; play a game In which the stakes are low I cry for the moon, I don't know... Maybe I need its light To die a little makes the living right.
