25. With Laughter

Wandering through a shifting sanded sea.
The drowned silence of catastrophe
Echoing to a clearer call.
Favoring none but all.

Sickened by the rising tone,
(known to us alone)
Of the sea's hard splash,
Memories of a crueler lash.

Blind starfish on the yellow shore,
Yet they all will see far more
Not caught but never leaving
The huge green heaving.

No greater sea
Than drowns our misery.

White porcelain, standing grim
With laughter only at the brim.
