GENERATIONS Copyright (C) 1997 by Not Nice Music II. A COLLECTION OF OBSCURITY by Edwin M. Drogin 56. Untitled We live, we say. Is live a day In motion pure, Or striving for A static state? Is live, create? Or, are we parasites or ugly mould, To suck the days and sleep the nights As world grows old? What purpose for us? Must there be one? The stars ignore us, Impersonal is warmth of sun. Must we persist in search for why? Make riddles out of birth, And mourn the ones who die, Then, to a God concede control of earth. One way I know Life differs from the rest. We choose the paths ourselves And never pick the best.
