GENERATIONS Copyright (C) 1997 by Not Nice Music II. A COLLECTION OF OBSCURITY by Edwin M. Drogin 66. Untitled Where is the road I am walking today? The Brown dust by the right of way The red-hot sun that beats on my head And all the things that could be said. Dazedly lifting my foot and my eyes Dazedly stumbling over my lies. Talking to keep from hearing the words That I speak to myself. Laughing at nothing to laugh Crying at nothing to cry. Gracelessly live, so loudly to die. Living a life cut in half. Nervous, afraid to be bold Never as late as when thinking how old. Never as young as despair. Life not ahead or behind but here. Look at myself and accuse. Nothing to gain or to lose. And yet-here I am. I am I. And me is complex till I die.
