My Life and Soft Times
November 13, 1947

Usually an autobiography is book length, but since this is to be
only a page and a half, you won't have to suffer too long. On Oct. 26, 1932
on a Wednesday morning, at 9 o'clock to be exact, I made my debut into
this world. I took one look at my parents and congratulated myself on my
choice. I have never regretted it since.
I went through the usual stages of teething, gooing, and cooing. My
mother tells me I was very precocious, having an extensive vocabulary
at the tender age of fourteen months. In fact, I haven't stopped talking
yet. Six years of my life were spent at P.S. 48 learning my 3 R's,
reading, writing, and relaxation. Then I went to P.S. 226 for two
more years of supposed study. There I was editor of the school paper,
voted the brightest in the class (not by my teachers). My greatest achieve-
ment was getting one of the leading roles in the graduation play, "Tom
Sawyer". I was the only one small enough for the part.
And now on to Brooklyn Tech, where I am growing older. My voice is
beginning to crack. But that isn't the only thing that is cracked. I
believe that when I graduate from Brooklyn Tech I will be voted the one
most likely to recede.
